Installing XtraUpload v2

This page describes how to install XtraUpload v2 on your own server. This is the minimal that is required to set it up on the script.

WARNING! I shall be using these predefined terms for the Documentation, just replace them with what you need:

Script Folder: Xtraupload
Server URL: http://127.0.0.1/
MySQL Server located at: localhost
MySQL User: root
MySQL Password: (Blank)
MySQL Database: Xtraupload
MySQL Driver DB: MySQLi

Pre-Install Steps

Download the Source from the downloads page. (or checkout from our SVN)

Setting up the Database

XtraUpload v2 contains a simple setup script to aid you in this process. Please access it by reaching this URL relative to you own URL:

http://127.0.0.1/Xtraupload/setup/

(Notice I added /setup/ to our url)

On our page, press the "Continue" button to proceed.

On the second page, you should see a license agreement which is to be read through.

If you agree with the contents of the agreement, press "Continue".
If not, don't install the script.

The third page contains the file permissions and server checks for XtraUpload to run with full capabilities.

If one of the files are not set right, CHMOD it to the number needed.
When everything checks out, or at least what you need, press "Continue".

The fouth page has the inputs for the values we want our website to use.

The Website Address should automatically fill in the needed information, but double check.
The inputs under "Website Settings" can be left alone, but if you have mod_rewrite enabled on your server, you should consider checking "SEO URLS" to "Yes".
SQL Engine is MySQL by default (Change to your needs.
If your not sure if you have MySQL or MySQLi though, select MySQL.
Press "Continue" to proceed.

The fifth page is where you input the Administrator's username, password, and email (email being optional).

Fill in the needed data.
Press "Continue" to proceed.

The final step in setting up the database is being done. There shall take a moment for the page to fully load. Your Username and Password should show up.

Press "Continue" to return to your website.

Running the Script

WARNING!!!
The Setup and/or Upgrade folders exist!

This is a BIG security risk and as such XtraUpload will not continue loading until these folders are deleted from your server. If you have just uploaded XtraUpload or are upgrading from a previous version use the above links to either:

    * Setup XtraUpload for the first time
    * Upgrade XtraUpload from a previous version.

Once complete please delete the 2 folders and reload this page.

Oops! It appears we have a Fatal Error. Not to worry, its part of setting the script up. Our next steps are the following:

Delete the folders ./setup/ and ./upgrade/. (If you need them later, just reupload them)

Our error is fixed and the website is working as it should be!
